The following weekend, the Cowgirls travel to Marshall, TX to play Austin College and Rhodes. Both teams finished in the upper tier of the very competitive SCAC conference in 2006.

The Cowgirls open conference play at home against conference contender TLU on Friday, September 14 at 2:00 pm. Other home conference games include Schreiner, Concordia, UT-Tyler, Mississippi College, Louisiana College and McMurry University.

The Cowgirls go on the road in the conference to play East Texas Baptist, LeTourneau, UT-Dallas, Ozarks, Howard Payne and Mary Hardin Baylor. The only other non-conference game will be Tuesday, September 25 at home at 4:00 pm against Abilene Christian University. ACU is an NCAA D2 opponent.

The Cowgirls fell at Wheaton, who went on to win their 2nd national title in the last 3 years. HSU has won nine of the eleven ASC Championships. The Cowgirls have also been consistently ranked among the best teams in America, having appeared in the National Top 10 rankings in each of the past 3 seasons.
