| Cowgirls Earn Right To Host |

Brownwood, TX - Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer clinched the right to host its fifth straight American Southwest Conference Championship with an 8-0 ASC win over Howard Payne, Friday afternoon in Brownwood.
The Cowgirls moved their ASC unbeaten streak to 93 games and their winning streak to 13 straight on the year. HSU is 15-1 overall and 12-0 in league play.
HSU dominated play outshooting HPU 26-4, including 13-3 on goal. HSU had 15 total corner kicks in the game to one for HPU. The Cowgirls scored off of three corner kicks in the game, the first two came off the head of freshman Sarah Stansell. Both were served nicely from fellow freshman Becca Gault. The first came at 9:47 and the second came at the 26:42 mark.
Jordan Morley scored at the 28:48 mark off of an Erin Low assist and Low scored an unassisted goal in the 37th minute. Senior Regan Cappella bent in a corner kick in the 39th minute to give the Cowgirls a 5-0 halftime lead.
Cassie Sandifer scored 12 seconds into the second half and added the seventh goal of the day in the 73rd minute. Lindsay Cogburn scored the final goal in the 80th minute.
HPU fell to 4-11-1 overall and 3-8-1 in league play. HSU closes out its regular season with a game at Mary Hardin-Baylor on Saturday.
