Abilene, TX - Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team clinched an American Southwest Conference tournament berth with an 8-0 win over Louisiana College, Saturday afternoon at the HSU Soccer Complex.
HSU led 3-0 at halftime on goals by Becca Gault, Kelsey Byars, and Julie Woolverton. HSU came out in the second half and scored five goals. Two by freshman Lauren Placke, and one each by Byars, Beth Craig and Jordan Morely. Woolverton had four assists in the second half.
Christia Carr recorded her seventh shutout in goal this season.
The Cowgirls have now won 11 straight games overall and 91 straight in ASC play. HSU is 13-1 on the year and 10-0 in league play. Louisiana College fell to 5-10 overall and 4-5 in ASC play. HSU will host Abilene Christian on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
