Abilene, Tx - Hardin-Simmons' senior Regan Cappella scored a goal in the second overtime to give Hardin-Simmons a 1-0 American Southwest Conference win over Texas Lutheran, Friday afternoon at the HSU Soccer Complex.

Freshman Sarah Stansell had the assist on the game-winning goal.The Cowgirls out shot TLU 18-5 in the game, including 9-2 on-goal. Christi Carr threw the shutout in goal for the Cowgirls.

Despite the win, the Cowgirls took a huge loss as sophomore All-American forward Amy Kuykendall, who already has three goals on the year, was lost for the season with a knee injury.

HSU improved to 4-1 on the year and 1-0 in league play. Texas Lutheran fell to 2-2 overall and 1-1 in league play. HSU will host Schreiner on Saturday at 2 p.m.
