| Cowgirls Earn ASC Tournament Hosting Rights |

Abilene, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team claimed the right to host the American Southwest Conference Tournament for the third straight year with a 6-0 ASC win over Mississippi College Saturday afternoon at the HSU Soccer Complex.
The Cowgirls won their 14th straight game and moved their ASC unbeaten streak to 41 matches. Hsu is now 16-1 on the year and 13-0 in ASC play. Mississippi College fell to 8-5 overall and 5-4 in league play.
Morgan Loyd put the Cowgirls on top in the sixth minute with her 11th goal of the year. Regan Cappella added her fourth goal in two games in the 17th minute and Beth Craig accomplished the same feat in the 29th minute. Craig and Cappella each had hat tricks on Friday.
In the second half Mindi Zamora scored for the 12th time this season. Defender Natalie Longhofer and Kelly Watson scored for the first time this season with goals in the 73rd and 75th minutes.
April Johnson and Ashley Jackson combined in goal for the shutout. It was HSU's fifth straight shutout.
HSU closes out the regular season with a home match against McMurry, Saturday at 3 p.m.
