SHERMAN, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' 13th-ranked Cowgirl soccer team defeated Austin College in American Southwest Conference action in Sherman, 1-0, to increase its winning streak to 11 games and improve its record to 13-1 on the year.

Whitney Piendak scored the only goal for the Cowgirls when she scored just three minutes into the second half. The goal was unassisted. The Cowgirls outshot the `Roos 9-1 in the second half, after AC won the offensive battle in the first half seven shots to four.

April Johnson stood tall in net for the Cowgirls with five saves to record the shutout.

Austin College fell to 7-5-1 overall and 6-2-1 in ASC play. HSU is now 10-0 in ASC play. HSU hosts Angelo State on Tuesday at 4 p.m. The Cowgirls clinched a spot in the ASC Tournament with the win and can wrap up the right to host with two wins next weekend.
