| Cowgirls Run Past Bulldogs |

ABILENE, TEXAS - Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team continued its domination on its new home turf with a 7-2 American Southwest Conference win over Texas Lutheran at the HSU Soccer Complex on Saturday afternoon.
The Cowgirls came out strong and scored on a goal from forward Mindi Zamora in the 14th minute. Jacky Cox got the assist on Zamora's goal. The Cowgirls scored five more goals before halftime including a penalty kick from Zamora.
Zamora ended up with two goals on the game and a total of five goals and three assists on the weekend. Other scorers in the first half for the Cowgirls were Whitney Piendak, Kala Chalman, Elaine Pallarez, and Rebecca Neal. Natalie Longhofer, Regan Cappella, and Meredith Barron each contributed assists in the first half.
Texas Lutheran caught a break in the second half and received a penalty kick and Kristen Brousarrd striked it pass the freshman goalkeeper Ashley Jackson.
In the 63rd minute HSU's Morgan Loyd took a pass from Kala Chalman and got pass the TLU defense to get the seventh goal for the Cowgirls. The Bulldogs got a goal from Kelli Laydon in the 89th minute on an assist from Casey Rheman.
The Cowgirls outshot the Bulldogs 37-7 for the game. April Johnson and Jackson split time in goal for the Cowgirls. Johnson improved to 6-1 on the year with the win.
HSU moves to 7-1-0 on the year and 4-0 in ASC play. Texas Lutheran fell to 2-4-1 and 2-2-1 in conference action.
