| Cowgirls Win With Four in Second Half |

ABILENE, TEXAS - Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team opened its new field in style with a 14-0 American Southwest Conference win over Schreiner in the first women's game at the HSU Soccer Complex on Friday afternoon.
The Cowgirls scored in the 12th minute on a Mindi Zamora goal and added on four more goals in the first half and nine in the second half. The Cowgirls outshot the Mountaineers 73-1 in the game.
Zamora had three goals and three assists in the game. Whitney Piendak, Beth Craig and Cassie Sandifer each added a pair of goals. Stefanie Patterson, Morgan Loyd, Kelsey Jensen, Regan Cappella and Cathy Patty all added single tallies for the Cowgirls.
Zamora and Patterson each had three assists. The game was played mainly in the Cowgirls end and April Johnson and Ashley Jackson split halves in goal for the Cowgirls.
Stephanie Reed had 16 saves for Schreiner in her half in goal. Ashley Avalos had the lone shot for the Mountaineers.
HSU moves to 6-1 on the year and are 3-0 in ASC action. Schreiner fell to 2-5-0 and 1-3-0 in league play. HSU hosts Texas Lutheran at 3 p.m. Saturday.
